The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the Research Department.
Responsibilities
Facilitate communication between the Assistant Dean for Research Administration Faculty and Students
Record minutes and maintain compliance files of research committees: Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Research Committee, & Biosafety Committee
Prepare the semi-annual report to Touro University Environmental Health and Safety Department regarding chemicals in research laboratories
Maintain compliance files of research laboratories including biosafety records and documents
Prepare submission documents and maintain records of FDNY Certificate of Fitness (C-14) for faculty investigators and students
Coordinate safety training of faculty investigators and students
Coordinate/ purchase of supplies chemicals and equipment
Assist investigators in obtaining quotes for supplies and services
Direct the update of maintenance contracts for all lab equipment
Assist with maintaining daily temperature records of space and refrigeration equipment
Conduct and record weekly tests of eye-washing stations
Support the annual Research Day activities.
Print research posters for all Touro University faculty and students
Compile research documentation and protocols
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Research
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities
General administrative duties required
Effectively manage and organize daily tasks independently (and with a team) while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines required
Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks required
Strong interpersonal skills
Well organized
Able to prioritize tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
