To provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in Sonography subjects.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conducting individual or small group tutoring in person or online
Communicating with instructors, program director and students
Maintaining accurate records of tutoring sessions/hours.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
ARDMS or ARRT certification required.
Undergrad or Post-graduate degree is preferred.
Peer tutors must have earned “A” or “B” in the courses they wish to tutor, an overall 3.0 GPA, Sonography clinical experience, and an approval from the program director.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required
A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues required
Knowledge of the subject they tutor
Teaching experience is preferred.
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
Must be able to communicate in effective manner with students and supervisors.
Knowledge of Zoom required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook preferred.
Physical Demands
Extensive time sitting and standing
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs
Ability to hear and distinguish audible sounds
Ability to observe visually – colors and shades of gray for interpreting sonography images and teaching
