Overview

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for providing support, training and creating instructional materials for Touro University system users in the use of technology to enhance their instructional and administrative duties. This role will also act as a Canvas LMS administrator to provide LMS administrative support to Touro University system LMS users.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Act as a Canvas LMS administrator to provide LMS administrative support to Touro University system LMS users.
  • Respond to Instructional Technology related Helpdesk tickets and provide various LMS support to Touro faculty and students.
  • Work closely with faculty to advance their Learning Management System understanding and effective incorporation in traditional and online classrooms.
  • Deliver online and face-to-face trainings in group and one-on-one settings on topics such as LMS technologies, Office 365, Box, Zoom, Qualtrics etc.
  • Develop templates, tools, and processes to streamline the use of technology in instructional settings.
  • Design and develop courses in various modalities, including instructor-led, self-study, computer-based and web based.
  • Multimedia support to faculty including assisting with video recording, video post-production, webcasts, podcasts, mobile video device, and instructional video conferencing.
  • Provide training to employees on various Touro University system-wide applications as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in a related field required.
  • 2 to 3 year’s experience of eLearning teaching and/or training.
  • Experience working in higher education / Familiarity with higher education environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • A demonstrated ability to use the instructional design process, major models/best practices, and ability to grasp technical and non-technical content.
  • Ability to work well with others and to communicate ideas clearly orally and in writing.
  • Quickly adapt new computer technologies as they become available, and keep pace with changing educational and training needs.
  • Ability to maintain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to meet deadlines on an ongoing basis.
  • Experience in delivering technical training to non-technical end-users.
  • Experience in in-person and remote training for individuals as well as large groups.
  • Experience with public speaking .

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Zoom and other video conferencing software.
  • Proficiency in Captivate and or Articulate (preferred).

Travel 

  • Travel to other Touro campuses, seminars, conferences as needed.

Maximum Salary

USD $59,996.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $47,997.00/Yr.
