Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Program Growth
- Marketing and recruiting both the UX/UI and Interaction Design graduate program and the Digital Multimedia Design undergraduate program.
- Designing and documenting new programs as warranted.
- Arranging for workshops each semester.
- Promoting programs at information sessions.
- Annually presenting comparative studies for competitive programs.
Faculty and Courses
- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating full-time and part-time teaching and research faculty.
- Developing programs, structuring and scheduling courses, staffing, evaluating comparative programs, and assessing current programs.
- Assisting in the individual course development and assessment.
- Arranging for workshops each semester.
- Assisting instructors in finding appropriate guest speakers for their courses.
- Performing course resource research for such items as textbooks and audiovisual tools.
- Teaching at least one course.
Management Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining productive connections with Deans, Directors, and Site Coordinators.
- Supporting the Dean in all graduate and undergraduate initiatives.
- Supervising the work of the Digital Multimedia Design Program Coordinator.
- Assisting the graduate UX/UI and Interaction Design Program Director as needed.
- Serving on college-wide committees and participating in college initiatives as directed.
- Participating in preparation for accreditation by organizing program data collection efforts.
Student Support
- Counseling and advising students regarding the UX/UI and Interaction Design and Digital Multimedia Design programs.
- Responding to inquiries and complaints regarding the UX/UI and Interaction Design program and the undergraduate Digital Multimedia Design program.
- Managing issues with at-risk students.
