Overview

Touro College of Dental Medicine's Albuquerque clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Dental Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, alteration, and repair of dental prosthetics and appliances, including crowns, bridges, and dentures ,ensuring each product meets the highest standards of fit, function, and aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, fit, and repair full or partial dentures or dental appliances.
  • Fabricate crowns, bridges, inlays, and other restorations using various materials such as porcelain, zirconia, metal alloys, and acrylic.
  • Follow prescriptions and detailed specifications provided by dentists or dental specialists.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment including casting machines, lathes, furnaces, and CAD/CAM systems.
  • Use digital scanners, 3D printers, and milling units for digital dentistry workflows.
  • Ensure proper infection control and cleanliness of lab equipment and workstations.
  • Collaborate closely with dentists to achieve optimal fit, aesthetics, and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain records of cases and ensure timely turnaround of lab work.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; dental lab technology certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • Some experience in a dental lab setting required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of dental anatomy, materials, and processes.
  • Skilled in hand-finishing and polishing prosthetics with attention to detail.
  • Experience with digital dental technology (CAD/CAM) is a plus.
  • Strong manual dexterity and visual accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to dust, heat from ovens, and chemicals used in processing dental materials.
