Overview

The IT Support Specialist reports to the Central IT with a dotted line to local supervision at Touro College of Dental Medicine's (TCDM) new clinical site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role is responsible for administering Touro's learning management system (LMS), training faculty and students on various Touro software and applications, and ensuring the smooth operation of various IT and audiovisual (AV) systems. This person supports the student in partnership with Touro's managed service provider (MSP) team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Provide level 1 support for Touro's EHR system (AxiuM), Examsoft and LMS (Canvas) applications, including responding to staff/faculty/student helpdesk tickets.
  2. Work with faculty to advance their LMS understanding and effective incorporation in traditional and online classrooms at TCDM .
  3. Provide technical support and assists faculty with creation of multimedia curriculum material.
  4. Supports administering/troubleshooting the electronic health record (AxiuM), Exam Soft, and clinical scheduling system as needed.
  5. Provide AV support for the TCDM, including the following areas:
    1. Assist in the oversite of the recording, storage and distribution of dental school lectures.
    2. Work closely with the Touro IT team to provide video recordings to students immediately after they’re recorded.
  6. Provide support of Central IT systems such as, the Cisco network, Wi-Fi, Office 365, Google Workspace and Single Sign-On (SSO) applications
  7. Provide monthly reports to key performance indicators as defined by the IT Leadership team and TouroOne helpdesk.
  8. Liaison between MSP and Central IT in support of the New Mexico Clinic and Campus.
  9. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in technology/educational technology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with higher education environment is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to adapt to new computer technologies as they become available, and keep pace with changing educational and training needs
  • Ability to meet deadlines on an ongoing basis
  • Experience in delivering technical training to non-technical end-users
  • Experience in in-person and remote training for individuals as well as large groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access) and statistical software applications is required.
  • Proficiency in Canvas Learning Management System preferred
  • Proficiency in Zoom and other video conferencing software
