Overview

The Student Services Administrator/Recruiter serves as a key member of the Student Administrative Services team, supporting both prospective and current students through the admissions, enrollment, and support services pipeline. This individual plays a dual role: administering critical student services functions (including admissions processing, registration, and support navigation) and participating in strategic recruitment efforts. The Administrator/Recruiter must be a detail-oriented, proactive, and customer-focused professional who thrives in a student-centered, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Student Services Administrator/Recruiter's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through admissions, financial aid, and onboarding processes.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment efforts, including participation in college fairs, school visits, virtual information sessions, and other events designed to attract prospective students.
  • Manage and maintain student records in institutional systems (e.g., Banner), ensuring accuracy and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Assist with admissions processing, registration, student onboarding, and advising support in collaboration with academic and administrative departments.
  • Counsel students and families on available programs, services, and application procedures, including financial aid basics and referral to appropriate staff when needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications to support outreach materials, presentations, and campaign content.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for recruitment activities, including travel, materials, and data follow-up.
  • Contribute to student support efforts including orientation, student success initiatives, and retention planning.
  • Track and report on prospective student engagement, conversion, and retention data.
  • Maintain knowledge of institutional programs, policies, deadlines, and eligibility requirements across student services.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in student services, recruitment, admissions, or related administrative functions in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with student information systems (e.g., Banner), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Customer-service orientation and ability to support diverse student populations.
  • Able to travel periodically and work flexible hours including some evenings/weekends.

Travel

  • Home base is NY campus, but must be willing to travel to other campuses as business needs arise.

Maximum Salary

USD $30.00/Hr.

Minimum Salary

USD $24.00/Hr.
