Overview

Part-Time Faculty II and Capstone Coordinator, under the supervision of the Program Director and Academic/ Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the capstone experience (CE) and the capstone project (CP) in compliance with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) standards. The Faculty member will work 20-29 hours per week. Eligible for 4 hours of clinical time. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor the professional development of faculty and staff.
  • Participate in developing various capstone materials, including courses, syllabi, policies, procedures, and handbooks, to ensure effective capstone experiences that meet the needs of the PA students, program goals, and accreditation standards.
  • Review all proposals for capstone projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of student progress and performance in capstone courses and while on his/her capstone experience.
  • Assist program director with maintaining ARC-PA accreditation and program evaluation.
  • Participate in reviewing and modifying the program's curriculum.
  • Participate in leadership and/or service to the community and university.
  • Additional duties include teaching the assigned course load, advising students, administering scholarships, and participating in service.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Doctorate Degree required.
  • Doctorate degree in a related field awarded by an institution with regional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Experience with capstone mentorship and/or capstone coordination is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required
  • Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook required
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills, collaboration, and matrix management skills required
  • Ability to deliver online course content.
