Overview

The Data and Financial Analyst position is responsible for managing, collecting, reporting, and analyzing data to inform academic, institutional and financial effectiveness decision-making at Touro College of Dental Medicine. The Analyst will serve both Outcomes Assessment and Finance and Operations by ensuring the integrity of the college's data and assessment implementation analysis and reporting. This position will also be responsible for assisting with the completion of internal / external assessment instrument design, as well as financial analysis and reporting as well as custom reports for the institution. This role will also work on select projects directly with the Vice President of Finance and Operations and the Assistant Dean for Outcomes Assessment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with collection, analysis, and submission of institutional data
  • Develop cyclical and ad-hoc data reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with and analyze large complex data sets to inform academic decision-making
  • Translate institutional requirements into specifications to provide institutional reports, analytic dashboards, and visualizations
  • Remain abreast of process modifications and data collection relating to academics, student services, human resources, and finance
  • Continually assess existing processes and procedures for possible areas of improvement and provides feedback to supervisor
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data
  • Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed
  • Answer questions, solve problems effectively, and escalate appropriately
  • Perform special projects and assignments as requested

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or 1-3 years of relevant experience (preferably in data analytics, statistics, computer science, information technology, financial analysis or related field).
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with SPSS, Qualtrics, and MS Office platforms
  • Experience with Tableau and SQL a plus
  • SPSS Statistical Programming package experience and ability to manipulate and perform statistical analyses on institutional/ program data.
  • Qualtrics experience with knowledge of survey question design and creation, collection analysis, and reporting.
  • A strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices especially with large/complex datasets like SQL

  • Ability to convert user requests into technical specifications
  • Ability to QA and troubleshoot and visualize data
  • Ability to assess and provide recommendations for improving research processes
  • Strong communication skills demonstrated by the ability to research, write, edit, and produce documentation, training materials, and reports
  • Work on multiple projects with the ability to prioritize deadlines

Maximum Salary

USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $52,000.00/Yr.
