Overview

Touro University Montana invites applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position in Nursing to join our new online/hybrid Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Great Falls, Montana. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the foundation of a growing clinical and academic endeavor. Faculty will contribute to teaching, curriculum delivery, and course administration while mentoring and supporting nursing students. Faculty will also have access to collaborative research opportunities through Touro's partnership with the affiliated Weissman Hood Institute. Touro's 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art health sciences campus in Great Falls houses modern classrooms, advanced simulation centers, virtual anatomy labs, and extensive student study facilities. Nursing faculty join a robust national network within the Touro University System, working alongside experienced health professions educators committed to serving rural and frontier communities.

 

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing curriculum and instruction across online, classroom, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Fulfill the assigned teaching workload established by program leadership each semester.
  • Prepare and submit a syllabus for each assigned course.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback on academic and clinical progress.
  • Maintain an active and accessible presence within the hybrid learning environment and participate in required on-campus activities.
  • Provide academic advising, mentoring, and guidance to support student learning, professional development, and progression through the program.
  • Participate in activities that strengthen student engagement and interaction with faculty and the academic community.
  • Maintain course materials, student evaluations, and other documentation required for program administration and assessment.
  • Attend required faculty meetings, committee meetings, departmental functions, informational sessions, and institutional events.
  • Participate actively in nursing programs and university committees.
  • Collaborate with faculty, program leadership, and clinical partners to evaluate program outcomes and support continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate professional integrity and a commitment to professional nursing in interactions with students, colleagues, and clinical partners.
  • Maintain clinical currency and engage in professional development, scholarly activity, conferences, seminars, and meetings relevant to nursing education.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MN) required; earned Doctorate (PhD, DNP) preferred.
  • Active, unencumbered RN license (or eligibility for licensure in Montana) is required.
  • Educator with clinical and academic expertise in Nursing required.
  • Educational experience in foundational nursing sciences or clinical instruction preferred.
  • Previous nursing education experience, preferably with online or hybrid instruction.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and a commitment to nursing education.
  • Ability to work independently, remain organized, and manage teaching, advising, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and student mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet-based resources, and technology used to support online instruction.
  • Ability to develop curriculum, assess student learning, and contribute to program evaluation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and scholarly activity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and others.

Travel

  • Employees in this position can expect to attend and participate in on campus meetings, to include but not limited to: Faculty meetings.
  • Committee meetings.
  • Informational sessions.
  • Week-long program intensive, up to five times per semester.
  • Commencement ceremonies and other required institutional events.

Working Conditions

  • Employees in this position must be able to: Sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Use a computer, standard office equipment, and a telephone.
  • Read computer screens, smart boards, and printed materials.
  • Stand, walk, bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, move, lift and/or carry up to a human body weight to simulate clinical scenarios.
