Director of Recruitment and Communications

The Director of Recruitment and Communications develops relationships, partnerships, and agreements with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders to attract a diverse pool of top candidates for the GSE’s Master’s Degree and Certificate Programs, under consultation with the GSE Dean and in collaboration with program chairs and site directors. The Director collaborates closely with other Touro University offices (Registrar, Graduate Admissions, Compliance, among others) to ensure coherence and consistency of new student recruitment at the GSE with institutional policies and practices.

• In collaboration and consultation with GSE program chairs, site directors, and the Dean, cultivate relationships with school districts and other agencies (connected to teacher preparation in New York City’s metropolitan area and in the State) to foster agreements and other mechanisms for new student recruitment to GSE programs.
• Build and expand on current relationships with internal and external stakeholders for articulated enrollment pathways for diverse populations (e.g. paraprofessional, undergraduate students, career changers, veterans, underrepresented populations, online learners, alumni).
• Coordinates the production of content to ensure brand fidelity outreach including but not limited to printed and online brochures, social media, information session and open house events, college/career fairs, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Monitors the GSE web pages to ensure quality relevancy and continued updating of content.
• Nurture best-practices and institutional aligned procedures for recruitment enrollment and partnership development.
• Develop and oversee a recruitment team, to design and implement successful GSE recruitment efforts, and to efficiently monitor applicant processes using CRM software/systems.
• Coordinate with GSE and institutional marketing teams on the production of content, to ensure brand fidelity outreach including but not limited to printed and online brochures, social media, information session and open house events, college/career fairs, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Maintain current and identify future markets based on research of education labor market and demographic trends to focus recruitment efforts on quality candidates who demonstrate potential for success as educators of diverse student populations.
• Assist with the development of alumni relations in support of candidate enrollment, retention, and job placement.
• Identify and proactively navigate institutional systems to mitigate issues related to the recruitment and enrollment of quality candidates.
• Uphold the values and ideals of Touro GSE and Touro University.
• Supervise staff in the GSE Recruitment and Communications office.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience

• Master’s Degree or terminal degree in a related field; and a minimum of three years of successful experience required.
• Demonstrated understanding of the policy and employment trends that shape P-12 education. 
• Demonstrated understanding of and connections with recognized leaders in the P-12 and higher education environment of New York and the nation.

Desired Experience

• Experience in college recruiting and/or admissions communications fields with an emphasis on the online sector
• Three or more years of experience in admissions and/or enrollment management preferably on the graduate level.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting university programs in facilitating and developing MOUs with school districts.

Travel

• Extensive travel to Touro College GSE sites partner organizations and undergraduate institutions including occasional evenings and weekends.
