Overview

The Marketing and Communications Director assists with elevating and enhancing the image and identity of the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) at New York Medical College (NYMC), strengthening its reputation among key stakeholders, supporting enrollment, facilitating the student experience and furthering development goals while applying knowledge of digital marketing and communications to the online experience. The Director also oversees marketing initiatives for Touro Dental Health, designed to recruit patients to the clinic. The position will also execute and create college branding related to successful communications, strategies, and campaigns. The position reports directly to the dean of the school, has a dotted line to the Touro University Executive Director of Communications & Marketing, and has regular interactions with senior leadership, faculty, technical staff, students, and other colleagues, both outside and inside the Touro College of Dental Medicine and Touro University.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the TCDM's overall marketing and communication strategy aligned with its vision mission and goals.
  • Create and manage integrated marketing campaigns to promote the college's programs events, achievements, and faculty expertise to recruit and retain clinic patients.
  • Works with and oversees graphic designers, copywriters, and contracted vendors (as needed) on all marketing and communication initiatives, supporting the mission of the TCDM. The Director will also manage the social media coordinator, the graphic designer, and the events/alumni relations staff.
  • Oversee the college's brand identity and ensure consistency in messaging visual elements and tone of voice across all marketing and communication channels.
  • Produce engaging and compelling content for various platforms including websites, social media, newsletters, brochures, and press releases.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing and communication efforts, utilizing data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make informed decisions for future strategies.
  • Manage the design, copywrite, proof, and edit of all internal and external communications including but not limited to Desk of the Dean, Digital Signage, Patient e-Newsletter, TCDMNow e-newsletter monthly, NYSADC Newsletter, QA Newsletter, and Apex Magazine.
  • Managing email lists and disseminating e-blasts and campaigns using Mailchimp
  • Develop PR materials and promote community outreach events including but not limited to: Veterans Smile Day, Give Kids a Smile Day, health fairs, and maintaining relationships with schools and other community resources, and work with the PR agency to develop media alerts, inviting press, as well as pre and or post-event news releases and stories to distribute to local press.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets journalists and influencers to secure positive coverage and media opportunities for the college.
  • To assist with student recruitment efforts work with the Touro University communications team to advertise TCDM educational programs.
  • Work with social media staff on organic content and paid social campaigns for TCDM handles.
  • Guide TCDM departments and offices on marketing and communication initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in promoting special events including the Dental Gala Dinner, golf outing, white coat ceremony, and commencement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in marketing and communication and implement innovative approaches to enhance the college's outreach and impact.
  • Other tasks and duties may be assigned to support the school's mission.

Qualifications

Degrees

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least ten years of related experience in marketing or communications roles with experience managing social media channels and website management. Healthcare marketing or communications preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies including social media, content marketing, email campaigns, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders including faculty, students, alumni, and external partners.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and compelling messages.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Proven strength in writing, editing, reporting, and proofreading skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Knowledge of coding basics including HTML and CSS, familiarity with graphic design software strong plusses.

Travel

  • Occasional local/offsite travel to community events

Maximum Salary

USD $160,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $128,000.00/Yr.
